    Connect To The IoT Router Network

    To initiate the setup of the device, you have to connect it with the computer/ laptop device. You can use wired or wireless methods to establish the connection between the two. Check both the methods:

    Method 1: Wired Connection

    The wired method requires an ethernet cable to establish connection. You can proceed with the cable you get with the device. To connect
    • Firstly insert the ethernet cable in the LAN port of the IoT router device.
    • Make sure the cable is inserted properly and connection is secured.
    • Then insert the other end of the same cable in your computer or laptop device.
    • Thereafter check whether the LAN connection is successful or not.

    Wireless Connection

    Wireless method to connect the laptop with the router need access to the WiFi settings of the device. To connect
    • Go to the WiFi settings and search for the IoT router device network.
    • Once you get the network’s default SSID, click on it to connect.
    • If a security key is required then check the device back for default information.

    Access Web Interface

    • Rush to the address bar of the browser where you need to type “192.168.8.1” IP address.
    • Click on enter and you’ll be directed to the admin panel of the IoT router
    • Thereafter choose a language and press the next option to proceed.
    • Now you have to create a password for your admin login security
    • This is necessary to complete the configuration and then submit it.
    • As you submit, you can access the admin panel of the device.

    Internet

    Choosing the type of internet will be your next step of the setup process. To choose you need to follow the following:

    • Go to the IoT router’s admin panel
    • Thereafter from the side menu, choose the internet option
    • Then Select the way to connect the device to the internet. There are four ways with which you can connect the device with the internet. All the ways are mentioned underneath:
    • Using Ethernet cable to transmit modem’s data: Connect the GL.iNet IoT Gateway to the modem’s internet network using an ethernet cable. Use an ethernet cable and insert it in the back of the IoT device. Insert the other end of the same cable in the modem device. When the cable connected securely, connection completed successfully.
    • Use cable to transmit mobile data: Transmit your smartphone’s mobile data to the router via cable. Insert one end of the cable in the phone and another one in the IoT device.
    • Use a cellular enabled USB modem: To get internet access you can use a cellular enabled USB modem device. Insert it directly to the IoT router’s USB port to connect to the internet.
    • Use Existing WiFi: You can connect the GL.iNet IoT Gateway to the internet directly by using an existing WiFi network.
