    Unboxing the GL.iNet Security Gateway device you just brought. With the device you will get type-C power cable, ethernet cable, user manual and 5V-2A Power adapter with a US(default) or UK or EU or AU plug. Adapters may vary as per your country. Take out all the items from the box and verify you have all of them.

    Wired Connection

    To begin with, the wired method you can use ethernet cable. The one you get with the security device.
    • Inserts the ethernet cable in the LAN port of the device.
    • Thereafter insert the other end in your computer or laptop device.
    • Verify if the LAN connected successfully or not.

    Wireless Connection

    To begin with, the wireless method connection you need to use another router device as this device doesn’t have an inbuilt WiFi module.

    Method 1

    • Use the second router in an AP(Access Point) mode
    • Connect the LAN port of GL.iNet Security Gateway device to the WAN port of the second router.

    Method 2

    • Use the second router in the default router mode, but with a different router IP address
    • Then connect the LAN port of GL.iNet Security Gateway device to the WAN port of the second router.

    Access Web Interface

    Second step of the process is to open a web browser on the device. You can opt for any browser to use, it will help you in accessing the web interface.
    • Rush to the address bar and type “192.168.8.1” IP address in it.
    • You’ll be directed to the admin panel of the device, choose a language and then press the next option.
    • Create a password for your admin login security and then submit it.
    • Now you can access the admin panel of the device.

    Internet

    Next step in the process is to choose the type of internet. Go to the router’s admin panel and then the side menu. Thereafter choose the internet from there and select the way. The way to connect the device to the internet is as follows. You can choose any of these.
    • Connect the router to the modem’s internet network using an ethernet cable.
    • Transmit smartphone’s mobile data to the router via cable.
    • Use a cellular enabled USB modem to get internet access by inserting it into the router’s USB port
    • Also you can connect the device to the internet using an existing WiFi network.
